What does ultrasonic rhinoplasty consist of?

In other words, by using piezoelectric technology when performing a rhinoplasty we avoid the risk of affecting nearby tissues, which translates into a better recovery since it reduces the probability of suffering edema or hematomas after surgery.
Difference between utrasonic rhinoplasty and traditional rhinoplasty
Basically, the difference lies precisely in the technology and instruments used to perform nasal surgery. While in traditional rhinoplasty we use a surgical chisel (a metal instrument that includes a small blade and is used to cut bone) together with a hammer, in ultrasonic rhinoplasty we use, as mentioned above, the piezoelectric scalpel.
To be understood, the traditional instruments would be similar to the hammer and chisel used by a sculptor to carve figures, while the piezoelectric scalpel is a state-of-the-art technology, much more precise and safer.
The only advantage that traditional surgery has over ultrasonic rhinoplasty is the intervention time, which is usually somewhat shorter. Otherwise, all are disadvantages since traditional nasal surgery produces greater inflammation, and therefore pain, to patients. In addition, it usually presents associated postoperative hematomas in a great number of occasions.
Another point in favor of ultrasonic rhinoplasty over traditional rhinoplasty is that it is not necessary to use nasal packing. In traditional nasal surgery the patient must wear a nasal packing for 2-3 days to prevent bleeding, with the discomfort and discomfort caused by not being able to breathe through the nose during that period of time.
